This is where everything begun! It started with a last minute paperwork hiccup on my part and I ended up going to CSU Hayward, now known as CSU East Bay, in 2005. That was a period of time with a lot of uncertainties. The entire future was cloudy. I guess the future is always foggy to most of us. The Department of Physics was tiny at the time. There were only 6 of us, undergraduate students. The entire school was in a transitional period as well. They were changing their name, upgrading infrastructures, etc. Relatively speaking, in 2005, CSU Hayward was regarded as a “no-name” school among college students.
Yet, little that I know, this place would be the intersection of many lives, and, the most amazing part, is that I wouldn’t know so until 10 years later. Until, I met some of them down the road in Mountain View, Google.
Perhaps, if I have to choose, I would say that CSU Hayward taught me to make the best out of everything, and then have faith, trust the process.
November 2023, I drove aimlessly again. An inner voice told me “maybe let’s pay CSU East Bay a visit because you’re going to do part-time lecturer there in 2024!”
